Introduction, rules and safety

In the first Forest School session the children experienced: 

  • The boundaries of the site
  • The rules of forest school
  • Identify livings things/animals in the woodland area
  • Becoming aware of safety cards/ rules to follow


During the first sessions we recognised noticeable hazards around the site, thereafter discussing any hazards which we had missed, making children aware of the hazards which may arise whilst taking part of Forest School sessions. In each group the children suggested rules to follow during sessions. After completing the set activities, the children had time to explore and write down any habitats and living things which they discovered whilst exploring.
