    WELCOME TO RECEPTION!

We are the 'Penguins Class'. Our teachers are Mrs S Scott, Mr J Stretch and Mrs T Scott.

We are delighted to join your children on an exciting learning journey. In Reception, every day is an adventure, filled with curiosity, discovery and fun!

We love sharing stories and nurturing a passion for language, so we enjoy books, rhymes and poems every day. Through sharing these, we build confidence, imagination and a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

Our learning doesn’t stay indoors — we also enjoy many opportunities to explore the outdoors, where we play, investigate and develop our understanding of the world around us.

We enjoy learning, growing, and making wonderful memories together!

We would love for you to share your learning and discoveries from home too!

πŸ“ŒImportant Messages for Grown Ups πŸ“Œ

Please make sure that your children come to school dressed in the correct uniform and clothing for all weathers. This will include:

    • πŸ§₯A waterproof coat with a hood πŸŒ§οΈ
    • πŸ₯ΎA pair of wellies to leave in school for when it is wet outside and also for when we visit Forest School
    • πŸ‘• PE kit to hang on their coat peg for when the children do PE on a Friday. This should include black trousers / shorts / leggings with a white top and a blue or red jumper πŸ‘Ÿ. These will then be sent home at the end of every half term for them to be washed.

We explore and learn in all weather because...'“Out in all weathers, we learn that every raindrop, breeze and sunbeam adds something new to our thinking πŸŒ§οΈπŸŒ¬οΈβ˜€οΈπŸ“š”

    β˜€οΈ Summer Weather Reminders β˜€οΈ

As the weather begins to warm up, please can we remind parents to send their children to school with a sunhat and apply sun cream before the start of the day 🧴.

We want your children to make the most of outdoor learning, exploring and enjoying in the sunshine safely πŸŒΏπŸ“š. Thank you for your support in helping us keep everyone protected while learning outside 🌞.

    Home Reading
Books will be sent home with each child in their red book bags. These red book bags will be supplied by school. Please remember to read your home reading book at least three times a week and make sure your reading record is signed by a grown-up each time you have read. It is important that you read at home regularly to practise the skills that you have learnt in school. These home reading books will be changed ONCE a week when your child has practised reading at home.
