In English, we will be focusing on the story The Tiger Who Came to Tea. The children will use a story map to help them retell the story confidently. A copy of the story map will be sent home, so please check book bags and encourage your child to share the story with you.
In Maths, we will begin by learning about mass and volume. We will then move on to multiplication and division, focusing on counting in 2s, 5s and 10s, and making equal groups. We will also explore fractions, learning about halves and quarters.
Our topic in Science is plants. The children will plant seeds and observe how they grow over time. They will learn about the different parts of plants and trees and begin to name some by the end of the half term.
In Art, we will be creating a 3D sculpture, developing our creativity and modelling skills.
Following our work on the local area last term, we will now be learning about our country.
In Music, we will continue to use the glockenspiels and learn to sing a new song.
In RE, we will learn about baptism and why it is special.
We will continue using Purple Mash during our computing lessons. Please encourage your child to log in at home. If you need another copy of login details, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
Our focus this half term is “Being My Best”, helping children to develop confidence, resilience and healthy habits.
PE lessons will continue to take place on Wednesdays. This half term, we will be focusing on throwing and catching skills.
Please ensure your child has a PE kit in school.
