At Intack Primary School, Forest School sessions are becoming an important part of our learning. Children explore, learn and develop in the outdoors whatever the season or weather. Research shows, that time spent outdoors has a positive effect on children’s health.
Forest School has been defined as:
“An inspirational process that offers children, young people and adults regular opportunities to achieve, and develop confidence and self esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland environment” Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) and Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (CLOTC), 2002.

Sessions are planned from observations to suit different learners and their needs. Each session has different learning objectives which link in with Forest School principles which enhance learning experiences and outcomes. Sessions are planned with cross curricular links.
