Magpies Class have been linked with the Y3 and 4 class at St Stephen’s School in Tockholes, so that we can both find out about schools in different areas of Blackburn with Darwen.

We have sent each other pictures and messages. Last half-term we had an online meeting which was so nice!

Last week, Magpies went to Tockholes to visit them. We had a fabulous day!

We went on the coach and were dropped off at the top of their lane. We walked down to their school and had a full day working with them. We completed activities to help us get to know each other and make friends. We played Getting To Know You Bingo and we created and performed some fabulous group handshakes. Later, we read a poem about being together. We played on their field and trim trail and we even met Treacle, their school dog! Finally, we worked together in groups to create posters of our perfect towns.

We had a lovely day there and at the very end of the day they gave all of us cards that they had made, especially designed based on our interests.

We can’t wait to welcome them to Intack School when they come to see us in the final week of term.
