At Intack, we believe every child should grow up knowing that they can achieve amazing things, no matter who they are. That's why we were proud to celebrate Women in Science and recognise the incredible women whose curiosity, determination and discoveries have helped to change the world.

The children learnt that, many years ago, women were not always given the same opportunities as men and often found it much harder to become scientists. Despite these challenges, many remarkable women persevered and made discoveries that continue to improve our lives today.

Each year group explored the life and achievements of a different female scientist through exciting activities, discussions and research. The children were fascinated by the stories they discovered and loved finding out how these inspirational women have shaped the world we live in.

To round off our learning, we came together for a whole-school celebration assembly. Every class proudly shared what they had learnt, showcasing their knowledge and celebrating the achievements of their chosen scientist. It was wonderful to see the children's confidence, enthusiasm and pride as they presented to one another.

We hope that by learning about these inspiring role models, our children leave with an important message: that science is for everyone, and with curiosity, resilience and hard work, they can dream big and make a difference too.
