In Science, we investigated conductors and insulators.
Each table was given a selection of materials, including a pencil, ruler, rubber, metal pencil sharpener, split pin and several other objects.
The children worked in groups to build a simple electrical circuit and then inserted each item into the circuit to test whether the electrical current could pass through it. They carefully observed whether the bulb remained lit and recorded their results.
From their investigations, the children identified which materials were good conductors of electricity and which were good insulators. They enjoyed making predictions, testing their ideas and comparing their findings with others in the class.
