In Nursery, we enjoy learning about the world around us through a range of exciting, hands-on experiences. Throughout the year, the children explore different places both near and far, learning about our home town of Blackburn as well as countries around the world. Using a globe, they begin to understand the difference between land and sea, discover hot and cold places, and learn that a globe is a model of our world. Our travel agent role-play area encourages imaginative play and helps children learn about different ways of travelling, including by boat and aeroplane.

The children also enjoy working together on creative projects linked to their learning. As part of our 'Where We Live' topic, they designed and built their own model town using junk-modelling materials, bringing their ideas to life through teamwork, creativity, and imagination.

These experiences help children develop their understanding of the wider world while building confidence, communication skills, and a love of learning.
