To deepen our understanding of meanders during our Geography lesson in Year 6, we left the classroom and created our own river on the MUGA. We then used this river in a full class activity to simulate how bends in a river (meanders) form due to erosion and deposition. This activity allowed us to visualise the changing in shape of a river and how the speed of the water is faster on the outside of a bend causing erosion and slower on the inside of a bend causing deposition.
