Over this half-term, we have been investigating Curious Kitchens. We have looked at how our food gets to us and the effects on the environment. We discussed how it is similar to be a scientist and a chef. Both of these occupations experiment and change things but still follow a method. We investigated what bread would be like without yeast and also had a go at making our own sherbet! Parrots made theirs very sour – far too sour for Miss Shaw!! Kestrels made a mixture of too sour and too sweet!
Another aspect we looked at was how much food is wasted each day. During our special 'Science Assembly', we encouraged children in our school to eat their school dinners as they were nutritional and healthy.
