🔬✨ Science Week in Reception: Curiosity in Action! (Recycling) ✨🔍 - 18.03.26

We celebrated Science Week with a special focus on curiosity!

We explored the important questionWhat is recycling and how can we help?

The children were very excited to learn about how we can recycle both at home and in school and why it is so important to look after our environment.

We have learnt all about the different recycling bins and what materials go into each one:

  • Blue bin – paper and cardboard
  • Grey bin – plastic and tin
  • Burgundy bin – general waste
  • Brown bin – garden waste

To help us understand even more, we made our very own recycling bins by reusing cardboard boxes. This was a fun and creative way to learn about reusing materials and giving things a new purpose!

Throughout the week, the children showed fantastic curiosity by asking thoughtful questions such as:
“I wonder what I could find in the blue bin?”
“I wonder what I could find in the burgundy bin?”
“I wonder where all our rubbish goes?”

We are so proud of how inquisitive our children have been this week. It has been a wonderful week of exploring, questioning and learning how we can all help take care of our world! 🌍
