For Art Week, we researched Romare Bearden and explored his artwork and unique artistic style. Inspired by his work, we recreated On the Block and designed collages of our own. We began the week by creating a scrapbook entry, identifying the techniques and styles he used and planning how we would use these ideas in our own artwork. We then used wallpaper, magazines, newspapers, flyers, brochures and sugar paper to create our own artwork, carefully layering different materials to produce colourful and imaginative collages inspired by Romare Bearden.
