Sokari Douglas Camp was born in Nigeria and is a renowned sculptor who creates metal sculptures by bending, cutting, and welding pieces together. Her work is inspired by movement, clothing, Kalabari culture, theatre, and the environment.

Inspired by her work, the children created their own sculptures from paper and cardboard, carefully cutting out letters to form words. We then took our sculptures into the playground and, luckily, enjoyed a sunny day. The sunshine allowed us to explore the shadows created by our sculptures and see our cut-out words projected onto the playground floor, bringing our artwork to life in a new and exciting way.
