This half term in Talk for Writing, we have been learning the story The Disgusting Sandwich. We practised retelling the story using actions and a story map to help us remember the key events.

We are now learning to write instructions. As a fun hook to our learning, we made our own disgusting sandwiches! We used messy materials such as mud, slime, and sand to create our creations.

The children really enjoyed getting messy while practising our stem sentences orally to explain what they were doing. This helped us prepare for writing our own instructions.
