The impact of children’s learning in Design Technology at Intack Primary School is measured by the ongoing monitoring of children’s understanding, knowledge, and skills by the class teacher, throughout lessons. This assessment is then used to inform task adaptation and to support and challenge the children. Design Technology is also monitored by the subject leader throughout the year in the form of book monitoring, looking at outcomes and pupil interviews to discuss their learning and understanding and establish the impact of the teaching taking place.  

We want our children to leave us as confident, creative and resourceful designers and makers. They will have developed practical skills alongside the knowledge and resilience to solve problems, adapt their ideas and create products they can be proud of.

Most importantly, we want children to understand that Design and Technology is about making ideas happen and using creativity to make a positive difference to the world around them.
