Today we celebrated Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday with a fantastic whole-school project 🌍
Our focus was ocean pollution, where we explored how marine animals, especially turtles, are affected by litter in our seas. The children were shocked to learn how often turtles become trapped in plastic waste, and it really inspired them to take action.
We created the slogan ‘Plastic is not fantastic’ and made a class pledge to recycle more and reduce plastic use in our classroom.
For our showcase, the children worked incredibly hard to bring their ideas to life. They made a giant turtle from recycled materials, designed signs, created a large ‘100’ collage using natural resources to learn about the special number, and produced beautiful sea creatures.
In the afternoon, our nursery children joined KS1 in the hall to share their creations – they were amazing! So proud of every single one for their creativity, teamwork, and passion for protecting our oceans 💙
