One of our topics this week has been Ocean Animals, which the children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about. We got creative and crafty while exploring different animals that live in the ocean.

We learned that jellyfish have tentacles that can sting. The children were fascinated to discover that jellyfish do not have a brain, heart, or bones.

We also learned about turtles and found out that they have hard shells and can tuck their heads inside when they feel threatened or in danger. During David Attenborough Week, we learned a great deal about ocean pollution. Many of the children remembered this when creating their turtle artwork, drawing sad faces and explaining that the turtles were sad because of the litter in the ocean.

The children also learned that fish breathe by taking water in through their mouths and passing it over their gills, which helps them get the oxygen they need.

Finally, we explored coral reefs and learned that many ocean animals live among the coral. We discovered that coral reefs provide shelter and hiding places, helping animals stay safe from predators.

The children showed great interest throughout the topic and impressed us with how much they remembered about ocean life and the importance of protecting our oceans. 🌊🐢🐠🪼
