To link with our topic of growing and planting, we added a flower shop to our role play area. The children have loved this new addition and have been very engaged in their play. It has particularly supported oracy, as children take on roles such as a florist and a customer.
The activity also supports communication and language, as children practise new vocabulary related to flowers and plants while listening and responding to one another. There are opportunities for maths as children count flowers, talk about prices and exchange money. The role play also encourages imagination and creativity, as children create their own scenarios and explore real-life experiences through play. 🌼
