  • Science Week

During Science Week, we followed the children’s big interest in dinosaurs. Their BIG question was “Where are dinosaurs?” After exploring books, videos and discussions, the children decided that volcano lava may have melted the dinosaurs. This led to more questions such as: where did dinosaurs live? What did they eat? What did they feel and look like?

    We supported this learning through:

    • Clay dinosaurs – developing fine motor skills, creativity and language as children shaped and described their models.
    • Creating a dinosaur habitat – encouraging teamwork, problem-solving and understanding of different environments where dinosaurs may have lived.
    • Volcano experiment – helping children make predictions, observe reactions and build early scientific thinking as they watched their volcano “erupt.”

The whole project was magical, fun and full of excitement, helping learning come alive through hands‑on discovery, curiosity and imaginative play. This project encouraged working as a team, questioning and hands-on scientific exploration across all areas of learning.
