At Intack, to ensure that all of our children become effective communicators, we intend for our children to acquire a deep understanding of how our English language works and how sentences are constructed.

We strive:

• To teach the grammar objectives outlined in the National Curriculum ensuring progression year on year.
• To use a range of good quality literature that provide children with good models of grammatical concepts.
• To provide a robust grammar curriculum that builds on prior learning and develops mastery, using Lancashire’s Key Learning Indicators of Performance.
• To place oracy at the heart of our teaching and learning approaches for grammar, allowing children to have many opportunities to rehearse grammatical concepts orally before committing them to their writing.
