  • 🐞🐛 Minibeast Habitat Project 🐜🕷️ - 23.03.26

This week in Reception, we have carried on our topic about minibeasts and have had a wonderful time learning all about the habitats they live in. We discovered that minibeasts often live in tiny spaces and can be found sheltering in many different places, such as under logs, inside tubes, beneath leaves and even within pallets.

To help us understand this better, we worked together as a team to design and build our very own class minibeast habitat. Before we started building, we carefully drew pictures of different minibeast habitats and thought about what they should look like. This helped us plan how to make a safe and suitable home for our tiny visitors.

We then used a collection of natural resources to create our habitat, including sticks, logs, grass, and leaves. Everyone contributed, showing great teamwork and creativity as we built a space that minibeasts might enjoy.

Over the coming weeks, we will be observing our habitat closely to see how minibeasts use it over time. We are excited to see which creatures visit and how they make use of the different materials and spaces we have provided.

What a fantastic way to explore nature, work together, and learn about the small but important creatures in our environment!
