Computing at Intack Primary School – Statement of Intent
At Intack, the Computing curriculum equips pupils with the knowledge and skills to thrive in a digital world, while ensuring they are safe, responsible and sophisticated users of technology.
We deliver computing through the Purple Mash Scheme of Work, which is fully aligned to the National Curriculum. This ensures a structured, progressive journey from EYFS through to Year 6.
Our intent is that pupils will:
Develop computational thinking through coding, algorithms, logic and problem-solving in Purple Mash units such as 2Code, Simulations, and Text Adventures.
Use a wide range of information technology tools to create, edit and present digital content, supported by Purple Mash units like 2Paint, 2Publish, 2Calculate, 2Investigate, 3D Modelling and Game Creator.
Become digitally literate, understanding safe, responsible and effective technology use through Purple Mash units on Online Safety, Blogging, Email and Effective Searching.
Experience a curriculum that is inclusive, ambitious and accessible to all, including those with SEND and disadvantaged backgrounds, so that every child leaves primary school as a confident and capable digital citizen.
By the end of KS2, pupils will be confident, creative and safe users of technology, ready to apply their skills in KS3 and beyond.
The national curriculum for computing aims to ensure that all pupils:
