Year 3

Spring 2 Half Term     Year 3               Homework due day: May 1st, 2020

Topic: Plants and animals. “Fantastic Foliage”

Activity Bank for: Spring 2

Please complete 4 or more activities from the bank. You can choose when you want to do them. Please write the date that they are completed and sign them.

Homework Journal: Stick, write or draw anything into your Homework Journal to show what you have been doing.

Read a scale.

How much breakfast cereal are you eating? If you have a kitchen scale, weigh your cereal and record the weight in your homework book. Maybe compare it to what an adult is having and find the difference.

Please keep a daily diary of what you and your family are doing, even if it’s just what you’ve eaten at mealtimes and what the weather is like. Don’t forget to use capital letters, full stops and try to use a different sentence starter each time. Be neat!

Visit the British Museum website. They have information about Ancient Egypt wall paintings to remind you of our learning in Autumn term

I’m sorry the text is so small but hopefully it still works if you ctrl + click the link!

Please check PURPLEMASH every week because we will be setting work for you. We look forward to seeing what you are doing!

Recite the 7 continents.

Check some of the foods in your kitchen. Can you find 3 items grown or made in a European country? Can you find 3 items from other continents. Write a list in your homework books.

Draw a detailed drawing of any leaf that you choose. It could be a plant indoors, a plant in your garden or a wild plant peeping out of a crack in a garden wall. Look very carefully at the leaf shape and take your time adding the details.

Thank you for doing your homework. Keep washing your hands well and keep safe! Miss McKee and Miss Smith.

Other Essential Home Learning

  • You MUST read at least three times a week and this is to be recorded in the child’s Reading Record. A few pages each night is ideal.
  • Practise the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. Learn your 3 times table and be able to recite it quickly.
  • Practise your spellings and try hard to practise in neat handwriting.
